KIRA ARTEMIS RUSSO, Ph.D.
Dr. Russo received her Ph.D. from the Department of Politics and International Affairs at Northern Arizona University (NAU). There she focused on water policy and environmental policy. She graduated from NAU with a GPA of 4.0 and passed her comprehensive exams with distinction. Dr. Russo’s interest in water developed during her master’s program at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS), where she was introduced to the topic, particularly tribal water. She is the author of several articles and is the co-author of the book What Water Is Worth: Overlooked Non-Economic Value in Water Resources.
Dr. Russo’s bachelor’s degree is in broadcast communication, and she holds two master’s degrees—one in history and one in political science. Her other interests include being with her children, art, dancing, hiking, writing, and music.
